Annabeth, the daughter of Athena, God of Love and War
Annabeth is the daughter of Athena, God of Love and War. Annabeth is about the same age as Percy. Both of them are about 12 years old, and both of them are turning 16 in the last book. Annabeth came to camp half-blood a few years before Percy Jackson did. Annabeth came when Luke and Thalia came. She was about 7 years old when she tagged along with Luke and Thalia. Luke and Thalia were both a couple of years older then her.
Annabeth has grey eyes like most of her half-brothers and half-sisters. Annabeth stays in the Athena cabin. Ever since Annabeth has known about the ‘great prophecy’, she has really wanted to go on a quest. She is really happy when Percy comes along because she thinks that he might be the one. She hopes his father is Zeus and is a little disappointed when she finds out that Percy’s father is Poseidon. Annabeth is disappointed because Athena and Poseidon don’t get along very well, and she knows that her mother won’t like Percy very much.
Annabeth and Percy still become best friends even though their parents hate each other. Annabeth admires Percy’s bravery and courage, and Percy admires Annabeth’s wisdom. Soon after becoming friends they even come up with special nick names for each other. Annabeth’s nick name for Percy is ‘Seaweed brain’. Percy’s nick name for Annabeth is ‘Wise girl’.
Annabeth is very excited when she gets called to go on her very own quest. Annabeth gets to go on her very own quest during The Battle of the Labyrinth. She asks Percy, Thalia, and Grover, and Tyson. She is so very happy that she finally gets to lead the quest. Annabeth also gets to go and talk to the oracle for the first time.
Her quest is to find out about the labyrinth, and see if Kronos’s army is using the Labyrinth to get inside camp half-blood. Annabeth is also trying to find Daedalus. They want to find Daedalus because he is the one who created the labyrinth and he is the one who knows how to navigate through the labyrinth. The labyrinth is almost ‘alive’, because it is growing and getting bigger and bigger every year. The Labyrinth can take you almost anywhere if you know how to navigate through it. If you don’t know how to navigate through it, you can go mad and insane or become lost forever.
